Search Radius Extended for Bogor Civil Servant Swept Away in Cisadane River

The search for Bogor municipal civil servant (ASN Pemkot) Bayu Zulkarnain, who fell into the Cisadane River in Cipaku, South Bogor, continued today. Joint SAR personnel have been conducting the search since this morning.

“This morning the third day of the SAR operation has begun,” said Bogor City BPBD Chief Executive Dimas Tiko on Saturday (15/8/2026).

Today’s search is being carried out using diving and river sweep methods. Dimas Tiko said the search radius for the victim has been expanded since the first day.

“We are still carrying out diving and sweeping efforts. As of yesterday, from point zero to approximately 600 metres, today it has been extended,” he explained.

The incident occurred on Thursday (13/8) at around 7:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time in Cipaku, South Bogor. At the time, the victim was passing through on his way home from work.

“Returning from work. He happens to be a Bogor municipal civil servant at the Regional Archives and Library Office,” said Bogor City BPBD Chief Executive Dimas Tiko Prahadisasongko when contacted on Friday (14/8).

The victim is believed to have fallen while crossing a steep bridge. The location is also frequently used by the victim on a daily basis.

“Yes, looking at the chronology, it is indeed a motorbike bridge, and the descent is quite steep. His daily commute to and from work has always been via this bridge,” he said.

Tiko suspects that due to the steep descent, the victim fell into the river. The suspicion is reinforced by the condition of the motorbike lying on the bridge, as well as the victim’s bag floating in the river.

“The position was perhaps, qadarullah, qadarullah, at the time of the incident yesterday at the descent at the end of the bridge, perhaps that is how he fell,” he added.
