Seamless Pipe best vendor

JAKARTA (JP): Pipe manufacturer PT Seamless Pipe Indonesia Java said on Tuesday it had been named the best vendor in 2000 by Spanish-Argentine oil firm Repsol YPF Maxus Southeast Sumatra.

Seamless, a subsidiary of PT Bakrie & Brothers, said the award showed its pipe products were of international quality.

Seamless president Nugroho I Purbowinoto said the company would continue to push for better quality in competing on the international market.

He said in a press statement that Seamless would boost production to its highest capacity, which is 160,000 tons of pipes per year.

"We are planning to increase our domestic market share while also raising our export volume to oil producing countries in Southeast Asia and the Middle East," Nugroho said. (bkm)
