Seafood Company's Factory Fire Requires Six Months for Full Recovery
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Seafood processing issuer PT Dua Putra Utama Makmur Tbk (DPUM) has spoken out regarding the fire that razed its factory in Pati, Central Java. The fire had recently drawn public attention online.
Through an Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) disclosure, the company stressed that there were no fatalities or serious injuries in the incident and that the fire has been fully extinguished.
Currently, the company is still assessing the impact of the fire. However, the company remains optimistic that the incident will not cause material disruption to its operational and financial activities.
Separately, DPUM President Director Bambang Panca Putra Yudiono explained the chronology of the fire that struck the factory on Saturday (6/6/2026). The fire was first detected at around 06:00 Western Indonesia Time.
Upon detection, the company immediately activated its internal emergency response protocol as soon as the incident was identified, whilst coordination with external parties was carried out simultaneously without delay.
The company is currently conducting a comprehensive assessment of the facility conditions to ensure the area is safe before operational activities resume. In addition, an internal investigation is also underway to identify the exact cause of the fire.
The investigation results will be communicated to all stakeholders in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations, including disclosure obligations to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
As a result of this incident, DPUM has diverted affected production activities to its other operational facilities, so that supply continuity to customers can be maintained as optimally as possible.
The company estimates that operational conditions can fully recover within the next six months, in line with the progress of facility restoration and production line normalisation.
