Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Listed seafood processing company PT Dua Putra Utama Makmur Tbk (DPUM) has spoken out regarding the latest developments following a fire incident at one of its factories in Pati, Central Java. DPUM’s President Commissioner Sherley stated that the company has moved swiftly to ensure operational continuity and customer service remain intact. Currently, Production Facility Plant 2 is undergoing minor repairs while awaiting the arrival of new machinery. The company is targeting a gradual resumption of operations at the facility within the next few months, with an initial target of around three months. “Production Facility Plant 1, which was unaffected by the fire, continues to operate normally and serves as the backbone of the company’s production to meet customer demand. We are ensuring that core operational activities proceed as they should,” Sherley said in a written statement on Monday. Additionally, the company is in the process of restoring Production Facility Plant 3 and its supporting facilities that were impacted. Alongside this recovery process, the company is targeting the resumption of export activities by mid-July 2026. “We appreciate the support provided by customers, business partners, and all stakeholders. This support fuels our spirit to recover stronger and continue delivering products to both domestic and international markets,” he added. The factory fire had previously drawn attention on social media. The company emphasised that there were no fatalities or serious injuries in the incident, and the fire was fully extinguished. “The company is currently assessing the impact of the fire. However, the company remains optimistic that the incident will not cause material disruption to the company’s operations and finances,” according to a disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. At the time of the disclosure, shares of PT Dua Putra Utama Makmur Tbk (DPUM) closed down 22 points, or 14.67%, at Rp128 per share. As of trading on Friday, the shares were parked at Rp105 per share.
