Sea vessel passenger surge at Samarinda port

A number of passengers filled the deck of KM Prince Soya before setting sail from Samarinda port, East Kalimantan, on Sunday (15 March 2026). According to data from the Port Authority and Harbormaster’s Office (KSOP) Class I Samarinda, the number of passengers using sea transport heading to Parepare, South Sulawesi, six days before Eid was 1,697 passengers. Numerous passengers were on the deck of KM Prince Soya as it departed from Samarinda port, East Kalimantan, on Sunday (15 March 2026).
