Jakarta (ANTARA) – Juwariyah, head of SDN Tanggirejo in Grobogan Regency, Central Java, has expressed her gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto and his administration following the start of the revitalisation of the school, which had suffered structural damage.

“I would like to thank the President and his team for initiating this revitalisation,” Juwariyah said when contacted by ANTARA on Saturday.

She said the revitalisation work began on Saturday (25 July), after the school had earlier received a site inspection from the Presidential Palace.

Juwariyah explained that the revitalisation would comprehensively cover all parts of the school building that had suffered damage.

“God willing, everything will be covered,” she said.

Although the repair process has begun, teaching and learning activities are still underway. Juwariyah said the school had arranged lessons in shifts for some pupils, while classrooms that remain usable have been partitioned off and the prayer hall is being used as a temporary learning space.

She added that the damage first occurred in the Year VI classroom in January 2026, followed by the teachers’ office in April. The damage was caused by a termite infestation.

“We are continuing to coordinate with various parties, from the school principal and the education office to the Central Java Provincial Education Quality Assurance Centre (BBPMP), to revitalise the school as soon as possible. In the near future, we will also invite the head of SDN Tanggirejo to Jakarta to sign a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the revitalisation,” said Gogot.

He added that the Education Unit Revitalisation Programme is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) in realising quality education for all.

Responding to the condition of SDN Tanggirejo, he affirmed the ministry’s commitment to continually improving educational facilities and infrastructure so that pupils can learn in a safe, comfortable and proper environment.
