SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Jagakarsa Declared Safe After Bomb Threat
A joint team comprising the Gegana bomb squad, the Densus 88 counter-terrorism unit, and the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) has declared SD Negeri Srengseng Sawah 15 Pagi in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, safe after a bomb threat. The threat was received via a WhatsApp message on Monday, the first day of the school’s Masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah (MPLS) orientation programme. The message claimed that bombs had been placed at 11 locations within the school. Following a sweep that lasted approximately four hours, no suspicious items were found. The school’s MPLS activities were immediately disbanded. Police are currently investigating the incident and have questioned three witnesses, including a first-grade teacher and a staff member who received the message. CCTV footage from the area is also being examined. A decision on whether teaching and learning activities can resume on Tuesday will be made following coordination between the local education authority, the school, and the South Jakarta city administration.
