SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 Pagi to be Rebuilt in 2027

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD DKI) Ima Mahdiah has stated that the budget for the reconstruction of SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 Pagi has been prepared, with construction targeted to commence in 2027.

“We have just cross-checked with the Head of the Education Department; the information is that the budget has been included for planning in 2026-2027. So, the budget will begin in 2027,” Ima said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Ima explained that the school’s construction was previously delayed due to budget adjustments or refocusing.

Nevertheless, Ima has urged the DKI Jakarta Education Department to rebuild the school promptly so that teaching and learning activities can return to normal.

“Indeed, the budget was previously refocused, some was reduced, and so on. But I have asked the Head of the Department to build it immediately,” Ima clarified.

While waiting for the school’s construction, she hopes the children will continue to study well at nearby schools.

Beyond SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 Pagi, Ima stated that she has also requested the DKI Education Department to catalogue all damaged schools across the capital.

She assessed that schools with severe damage must be prioritised for rehabilitation.

“We ask the Education Department to catalogue which schools are in severe condition, requiring total rehabilitation, and which are moderate or light. The severely damaged ones must be processed first,” Ima explained.
