SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 Continues to Share Premises with SDN 11 After 2024 Building Collapse
The headmistress of SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 11 Pagi, Arma Yeni, confirmed that SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 Pagi has been using her school’s classrooms for teaching and learning activities since 2024. At the time, classrooms at SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 had collapsed, forcing lessons to move to her school.
She said the borrowing school operates from 1pm to 5pm local time. “SDN Kebayoran Lama 11 runs from 6.30am to 12pm, sometimes until 12.30pm,” Arma said when met at her school on Friday, 24 July 2026.
Tempo found a connecting path between SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 Pagi and SDN Kebayoran Lama 11 Pagi, with a teacher seen passing back and forth along it.
Arma said she does not yet know when the renovation of SDN 09 will begin, while SDN Kebayoran Lama 09 is still awaiting plans for the renovation of its school.
The headmistress of SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 Pagi, Kenhayati Dwi Rahmini, said all pupils from classes I to VI are currently housed in the SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 11 building. “We are working together with SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 11. All students are well accommodated,” said Kenhayati in Jakarta, quoted by Antara on Thursday, 23 July 2026.
The adjustment of learning hours has been carefully calculated so that pupils’ lesson time still meets the required standards. “Extracurricular activities are managed by scheduling them earlier in the morning,” she said.
The damage to the school building occurred at the end of 2024, coinciding with the regional head election (pilkada) holiday. Initial information came from the school caretaker, so the school immediately moved teaching and learning activities and ensured no students were directly affected.
Regarding the exact cause of the building damage, as well as plans for a merger and the budget for repairing the building, Kenhayati stressed that these fall under the authority of the Jakarta Education Office.
“As for the cause, there is a separate team analysing it technically. The school is simply focusing on the students’ learning process so that it is not disrupted and their achievements continue to improve,” she said.
