SDN 57 Kendari Gate Padlocked, Students Study Outside
Teaching and learning activities at SDN 57 Kendari were disrupted after the school gate was padlocked by residents on Tuesday (4/8/2026). The sealing of the gate at the school, which has 184 students, was a form of protest against the head teacher’s decision to cancel a revitalisation plan for the damaged school building, which was deemed to endanger the teaching and learning process. Despite the gate being closed, students still attempted to follow lessons around the school area while waiting for the issue to be resolved. Residents hope the government will take immediate, concrete action so that the school revitalisation can be carried out to ensure the safety and comfort of the pupils. Relevant parties are still seeking a solution through coordination between the local government, the school, and the community so that teaching and learning activities can return to normal.
