Ni Putu Yuna Rahayu Arisanti is celebrating after achieving a perfect score of 100 in the Indonesian Language Academic Ability Test (TKA). A student at SDN 2 Tihingan in Tihingan Village, Banjarangkan District, Klungkung, Bali, she admitted to studying harder in preparation for the assessment.

Yuna noted that the Indonesian language subject was moderately difficult as the questions were often confusing. She expressed gratitude for being able to answer all 30 questions correctly within approximately one hour. “Some were easy, but many were confusing,” Yuna told reporters at SDN 2 Tihingan on Tuesday morning.

Despite her success, the student, born on 7 January 2014, expressed disappointment regarding her Mathematics score of 73.33. This comes at a time when SDN 2 Tihingan is facing a potential merger (regrouping) with SDN 3 Tihingan due to a shortage of students. Yuna, who aspires to become a pharmacist, stated, “I am sad because the Mathematics score was not good. I wanted both to be good.”

Yuna is the eldest child of Komang Ariawan and Wayan Yanti Susanti. Her father currently works on a cruise ship, while her mother is employed at a timber factory.

The Class VI teacher at SDN 2 Tihingan, Kadek Adhi Darma, expressed pride in Yuna’s perfect score. He noted that the achievement is a point of pride for SDN 2 Tihingan, especially as the school faces the prospect of being merged with another institution. “This is very proud for us. It demonstrates the high achievement and capability of our students, despite our school being small,” Darma explained.

The Acting Head of SDN 2 Tihingan, Ni Wayan Ekawati, explained that the regrouping of SDN 2 Tihingan with SDN 3 Tihingan was proposed last year. However, the proposal from the Klungkung Education, Youth, and Sports Office (Disdikpora) faced opposition from parents and the school committee. “Because the parents did not want it, the plan was delayed. But if it is proposed again now, parents will surely disagree,” Ekawati said.

Ekawati acknowledged that the student population at SDN 2 Tihingan is low. Nevertheless, she asserted that Yuna’s perfect score in the Indonesian Language TKA serves as proof that her students can compete with much larger schools.
