The Legislative Committee (Baleg) of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) is continuing discussions on the Draft Law concerning One Data Indonesia (RUU SDI). The Working Group meeting for the One Data Indonesia Bill took place at the Legislative Committee room, DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (5/10/2026). Martin noted that the current draft of the One Data Indonesia Bill consists of 20 chapters and 142 articles at the drafting and synchronisation team level.

During the meeting, the drafting team also limited itself from adding new norms, so there will be matters I will explain later regarding substantial changes that will be requested by the Working Group for a decision,” Martin said during the meeting.

He stated that Articles 129 to 135 of the SDI Bill regulate criminal sanctions for parties violating national data provisions. Martin explained that regulations regarding the sabotage, manipulation, destruction, and unauthorised dissemination of information targeting the national data centre carry a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.

“Article 134 relates to an increase in criminal penalties by one-third for state officials or government administrators. Furthermore, Article 135 relates to criminal penalties for corporations and corporate management,” he added.

The bill also regulates the organisers of One Data Indonesia (SDI), who are directly responsible to the President. The organisers referred to include bodies, agencies, or institutions involved in the management of national data.

“Article 1, point (36), relates to the definition of the SDI organiser, hereinafter referred to as the organiser, which is a body, agency, or institution responsible to the President,” Martin stated.
