Scream 7: Synopsis of the Film, the Ghostface Horror Returns

Good news for slasher film fans, the legendary horror franchise is back to haunt the big screen. The film Scream 7 officially premiered in Indonesian cinemas today, Wednesday, 25th February 2026. This seventh installment is one of the most anticipated films of the year as it brings back the original ‘Final Girl’, Sidney Prescott, to the centre of the story.

Directed by Kevin Williamson, the writer of the first Scream film (1996), Scream 7 promises a classic horror atmosphere with a more personal and brutal touch.

After the bloody events in New York in the previous film, the focus of the story now shifts back entirely to Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell). Sidney has now built a new, peaceful life in a small town called Pine Grove, Indiana. She lives with her husband, Mark Evans, and their children, hoping that the trauma of the past has been buried forever.

However, that peace is shattered when the masked killer Ghostface returns. Unlike previous terrors, this time Ghostface has a more specific and painful target: Sidney’s daughter, Tatum (Isabel May).

Sidney realises that running away is no longer an option. To protect her family, she must face her greatest fears again and uncover who is behind the Ghostface mask this time. With new rules for survival, Scream 7 takes viewers into a more deadly and puzzling cat-and-mouse game.
