Scouts Urge Strengthening of Child Protection Education in the Digital Realm

Temanggung (ANTARA) - Dwi Sukarmei, Deputy Chair of Public Relations for the Temanggung District Scout Council, emphasised the importance of the Scout Movement’s role in supporting the implementation of the Child Protection Law, particularly in the digital realm.

According to him, speaking in Temanggung on Saturday, Scouts hold a strategic position as a forum for developing young generations by providing understanding of digital ethics, awareness of online security, and responsibility in using technology.

“Scouts can serve as a learning space for children to understand digital ethics, increase awareness of online safety, and cultivate wise attitudes in utilising technology,” he said.

He explained that challenges in the current digital era are becoming increasingly complex, thus requiring an integrated educational approach in Scout activities.

In addition, children who are members of Scouts are also expected to become positive agents of change in their respective environments, by spreading understanding and practices of safe and responsible technology use.

“With the right preparation, Scout members can not only protect themselves but also educate their peers and surrounding communities,” he said.

He stated that this effort is seen as aligned with the collective commitment to creating a safe and child-friendly digital space in Indonesia.
