Schools to Conduct Home Visits for Prospective Students Under Domicile Route to Prevent Fraud
The New Student Admission (SPMB) committee for SMPN 1 Semarapura in Klungkung Regency, Bali, will conduct field verification for prospective students registering through the domicile route. This step is being taken to prevent address fraud. SPMB Committee Chair Made Urif explained that direct verification of the prospective students’ homes aims to ensure the address listed on the Family Card (KK) matches their current domicile. He stressed that mismatched address data will be reported directly to the Klungkung Regency Education, Youth and Sports Office (Dikpora). “For example, if the KK address is in Semarapura, but upon checking they have moved to Dawan, we will certainly report this. Because it is a pity for students who cannot be accommodated by the student transport,” Urif told detikBali on Tuesday (30/6/2026). Urif reminded prospective students choosing the domicile route to register at the school located at their residential address. “We have scheduled direct verification of students’ homes after the announcement,” he concluded. Head of Primary Education at the Klungkung Education, Youth and Sports Office (Dikpora), Wayan Sarjana, said his party has asked the SPMB committee to conduct field verification. Sarjana emphasised that schools have the right to cancel a student’s graduation if the data submitted by the registrant does not comply with the provisions. “In the registration form, there is a parental statement letter ensuring that all documents and information provided are genuine and truthful. So if it is not appropriate, it means there is a violation, and the school is authorised to disqualify the person concerned,” Sarjana explained. Sarjana explained that the domicile route KK requirement is that it must have been issued at least one year before the SPMB registration. A new KK issued less than a year ago cannot be used. Meanwhile, SPMB registration for the domicile route for elementary and junior high school levels in Klungkung is open from 1-4 July 2026, followed by an announcement on 9 July and re-registration on 10-11 July 2026. “For kindergarten and elementary levels, the domicile route quota is 80 percent, while for junior high school the quota is 50 percent,” Sarjana concluded.
