Schools join health programs

TERNATE, Maluku: The principals and teachers of 624 elementary
schools in 52 districts here have joined a basic health care
training program to learn how to identify minor ailments in
children.

Organized by the ministries of health and education, the
training covers materials such as nutrition and family planning
methods. It also instructs the teachers how to conduct brief
health surveys, organize immunization programs and identify
respiratory problems.
