Schoolgirl Stabs Teacher in South OKU: Caught Stealing, Flees with Parents

A junior high school student with the initials YS (16) is suspected of stabbing a primary school teacher, Sri Khodijah (47), in South Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra. The victim, who had sought help from residents after the stabbing, eventually died from her injuries. Meanwhile, police are currently hunting the perpetrator. “The perpetrator and her parents are believed to have fled,” said Buay Pemaca Police Chief Ipda Redi on Sunday (14/6), quoted from detikSumbagsel. He urged them to surrender. “We have obtained the perpetrator’s identity and are continuing to pursue the perpetrator and her parents,” he said. “We urge them to surrender immediately.”

The chronology of the stabbing began when the victim caught YS allegedly attempting a burglary at her home in the SMP 4 Buay Pemaca housing complex on Tuesday (9/6) at around 9.00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time. “When the victim returned home, the perpetrator’s actions were allegedly discovered by the victim. In a panic, the perpetrator allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife from the victim’s house and immediately stabbed the victim in the stomach, causing bleeding,” said Redi. After the incident, the perpetrator fled without taking any goods. The victim managed to run out of her house and seek help from local residents. “The victim was taken to Muaradua Regional General Hospital and was able to identify the perpetrator as a first-year junior high school student,” he said.

After receiving treatment at Muaradua Regional General Hospital, the victim was referred to a hospital in Palembang. However, on Thursday (11/6), the victim passed away. “After the incident, we immediately processed the crime scene and secured a knife used by the perpetrator to stab the victim,” he said.
