School Year Rush: Home-Based Convection Businesses Swamped with Uniform Orders

The new academic year has brought a windfall for school equipment manufacturers, particularly those producing uniforms. A home-based garment workshop in the Jakarta area was seen ramping up operations on Friday (3/7/2026) to fulfil a flood of orders. Garment businesses typically increase their production output by up to twofold compared to regular months in preparation for the annual new school season. “National garment production for school uniforms averages around 50 million pieces over two months,” a worker revealed. One worker noted that they are receiving a high volume of orders from various educational levels, especially for primary and junior high schools. “Market demand is very high this new school year. Almost every week, school uniform traders come directly to the workshop to request goods, whereas usually the finished products have to be delivered to their shops,” the worker added. With orders continuing to rise, home-based garment workshops are now racing against time to complete all outstanding requests.
