School in Badung Flooded, Students Learn Online
The flooding, caused by three days of continuous rain, has affected several houses and the Kumara Sari Kindergarten in Jimbaran, Badung Regency, Bali. The head of Jimbaran village, I Wayan Kardiyasa, stated that three houses in the area, as well as the school grounds of Kumara Sari Kindergarten, are still flooded. As a result, learning activities have been suspended and replaced with online classes.
“Because the school is still flooded, learning activities are being conducted online,” Kardiyasa said when contacted on Wednesday (February 25th). Officers from the Badung Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) are continuing to address the flooding in several locations, including on Jalan Sanggar Agung No. 12, Jimbaran. “We have responded to the flooding in Jimbaran,” said the Head of Emergency and Logistics at BPBD Badung, I Ketut Murdika.
In addition to the ongoing flooding in several areas, a section of road at the intersection in Latu has also collapsed. For the time being, warning signs have been placed and bamboo barriers erected to prevent accidents for road users. The weather in Badung Regency on Wednesday (February 25th) was initially clear in the morning, but became cloudy and light rain fell until the afternoon.
