School Holidays: Hundreds of Children Around Soetta Airport Circumcised
A total of 200 children from 20 villages and sub-districts across five districts in the area surrounding Soekarno-Hatta International Airport participated in a mass circumcision event in Jakarta on Saturday (20/6). The programme, run by PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia and routinely held during school holidays, has entered its third year of implementation since 2024. General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Heru Karyadi, stated that the Social and Environmental Responsibility programme, titled ‘Khitanan Ceria Bersama InJourney Airports 2026’, was supported by a budget of Rp350 million as a form of the company’s concern for improving public health and welfare. The circumcision event aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, and supports the fourth Asta Cita of the President regarding strengthening human resource development through improved health services. Participant selection was coordinated with sub-district and village governments, alongside information dissemination via digital media and online registration to ensure easy and open public access. To provide a pleasant experience, organisers prepared facilities and gifts for each child, including a t-shirt, sarong, circumcision pants, a cap, snacks, a remote-control toy, pocket money, and lunch. Angkasa Pura again partnered with the Dana Mustadhafin Foundation as the implementing partner. Eko Nugroho, Manager of Dana Mustadhafin, added that this collaboration has been ongoing since 2015 across various health-related social and environmental responsibility programmes, such as free medical treatment, eyeglass assistance, hearing aid assistance, and mass circumcisions. In addition to the circumcision event, the state-owned enterprise also handed over non-PUMK social and environmental responsibility aid to three institutions totalling Rp166,180,000, covering the construction of a flood control water channel for SMP Negeri 2 Kosambi, the construction of toilets for Al Muhajirin Mosque in Batujaya, Tangerang, and eating utensils for orphans at the Satu Benih Foundation in Tenjo.
