School Bus Service to Operate on Route 14 in Sleman from March 2026
The school bus service provided by the Sleman Transportation Office (Dishub) in collaboration with Transjogja will begin operations on 1 March 2026, according to Wulan Sapto Nugroho, Head of Transport for the DIY Transportation Office.
The DIY Transportation Office announced on Instagram today that a new service would arrive on Transjogja Route 14 from March 2026. The announcement revealed that the service would be a School Bus operating on the route.
In the post, Dishub DIY released a video indicating a “coming soon” arrival on Route 14, tagging the Sleman Dishub Instagram account. “Responding to public concerns regarding Route 14. 02.03.2026. Stay tuned for further information!” the caption stated.
When contacted, Wulan Sapto Nugroho explained that the “coming soon” announcement referred to the launch of the school bus service in Sleman. “The coming soon refers to the school bus service provided by Dishub Sleman in collaboration with Transjogja, which will commence operations from 1 March,” he explained. “Today (27 February) we are only conducting trial preparations,” he added.
However, Sapto declined to disclose operational details of the school bus service, as these matters fall entirely under Dishub Sleman’s purview, including fare setting. He noted that the operational procedures differ slightly from those of Transjogja. “It’s different from Transjogja; for school bus matters, you should ask Sleman Dishub directly,” he stated.
Sapto confirmed only that the school bus will operate on Route 14 of Transjogja. Route 14 currently serves a circular route between Pakem Terminal and Adisucipto Airport, with 39 stops all located within Sleman. The route is presently serviced by only two Transjogja units.
“Certainly, for Route 14, given that it is currently serviced by only two Transjogja units, we are collaborating with Dishub Sleman, whereby Dishub Sleman will provide two school bus units that will also run on Route 14,” Sapto explained. “The scheduling will be coordinated to ensure that passengers, who are predominantly students, can access public transport services from both Transjogja and the school bus. Based on last year’s assessment, there are no plans yet to add additional routes for the school bus service,” he concluded.
