Scholarship for RI teachers

SURABAYA: The Japanese government is offering scholarships for Indonesian teachers to study in Japan for 18 months next year.

Arvil Syahadat, a member of staff at the Japanese Consulate in Surabaya, East Java, said on Wednesday that the scholarship program would only be available for teachers with five years teaching experience and below the age of 35 by April 1, 2006.

Those who are interested to join the program must an submit application by Jan. 31, 2006 at the latest. Further information can be retrieved at www.id.emb-japan.go.jp. -- Antara
