Global energy technology leader Schneider Electric has published its 2025 extra-financial performance results, marking the conclusion of the Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) programme for 2021–2025. Over the past five years, Schneider Electric has reported measurable progress in climate, social, and governance, while supporting customers, partners and communities in the transition towards a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Martin Setiawan, President Director Schneider Electric Indonesia & Timor Leste, said on Thursday (5 March) that at the end of Q4 2025, the SSI overall score stood at 8.86 out of 10, reflecting the scale of the sustainability transformation implemented across the organisation and its value chain over the last five years. He stressed that this achievement confirms Schneider Electric’s ability to translate long-term ambitions into tangible results, at both global and local levels, and that the SSI 2021–2025 programme represents a real transformation journey in Indonesia.

‘In recent years, we have continued to strengthen our sustainability commitment through technological innovation, collaboration with government and industry partners, and a robust supply chain,’ he said. ‘For us, sustainability is not just a global commitment but a business strategy that drives performance, enhances the competitiveness of the national industry, and delivers positive impact for Indonesian society.’

Reducing environmental footprint: Martin added that Schneider Electric plays a crucial role in helping customers cut their environmental footprints through its products and solutions. By the end of 2025, the company has helped customers save and avoid 862 million tonnes of CO2, surpassing the initial target of 800 million tonnes. Through the Zero Carbon Project, Schneider Electric has also mobilised its supply chain to take concrete steps towards decarbonisation. By engaging 1,000 top strategic suppliers, the company contributed to a 56% reduction in supplier-operational CO2 emissions.

‘We are also continuing to drive fair and safe working conditions across our supplier ecosystem. By 2025, 98% of strategic suppliers meet the Decent Work requirements set by the company, strengthening respect for human rights, ethical labour practices and employee well-being across the value chain,’ he explained.

A just energy transition: In line with its mission to advance progress for all, Schneider Electric continues to contribute to a fair and inclusive energy transition, enabling stakeholders to participate and benefit from sustainable progress. Through the Access to Energy initiative launched in 2009, the company has expanded access to clean, reliable and affordable energy for underserved communities, reaching more than 61 million people worldwide by the end of 2025, surpassing the initial target of 50 million beneficiaries. ‘At the same time, Schneider Electric invests in skills and education for the younger generation to support long-term inclusion. Since 2009, more than one million people have received training in energy management, equipping individuals with the skills needed to build resilient communities and support the global energy transition,’ he noted.

Sustainable initiatives: Meanwhile, Donald Situmorang, Strategy, Sustainability and Government Relations Director Schneider Electric, noted that since 2021, more than 500 local sustainability initiatives have been implemented in the various countries where Schneider Electric operates. This demonstrates the company’s tangible contribution to creating a positive impact for local communities.

‘The completion of the SSI 2021–2025 is an important milestone for us, but it is not the end of the road. The foundations we have built—from stakeholder partnerships to decarbonisation and talent development—are the capital we will use to move towards 2030. Going forward, we will continue to harness technology and innovation to support the national energy-transition agenda, expand cross-sector collaboration, and ensure that energy and digital transformation delivers inclusive and sustainable benefits for all,’ he said.

In addition to these achievements, Donald added, Schneider Electric’s sustainability approach has also gained recognition from leading ESG ratings, including Platinum EcoVadis status, inclusion in the CDP Climate Change A List, and top rankings in the Social Benchmark and third in the Gender Benchmark in the latest World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) assessment, among other recognitions.
