Schedule of Imsakiyah for South Tangerang, Thursday 26th February 2026
TANGERANG SELATAN, KOMPAS.com - Muslims in Indonesia will enter the 8th day of fasting in Ramadan 1447 Hijri on Thursday (26/02/2026). Before commencing the 8th day of fasting, Muslims are encouraged to perform Sahur. Each region throughout Indonesia, including South Tangerang (Tangsel), has its own Imsak schedule as a reminder of the deadline for Sahur for the 2026 Ramadan fast. Kompas.com provides information on the Imsak schedule for South Tangerang in Ramadan 2026 based on the official website of the Directorate General of Islamic Guidance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The government has determined that the first day of Ramadan 1447 Hijri will fall on Thursday, 19th February 2026. This determination of the start of Ramadan is the result of an Isbat hearing conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs together with a number of Islamic community organisations on Tuesday (17/02/2026). The complete Imsakiyah and breaking fast schedule for those in the South Tangerang area can be found at the following link: Imsakiyah Schedule for South Tangerang. Unlike voluntary fasts, the intention for the Ramadan fast must be made the night before, before dawn or Subuh prayer. This was stated by Imam Nawawi in Majmu’: ‘It is not valid if the Ramadan fast or other obligatory fasts are performed without intention on the night before.’ Quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the following is the wording of the intention for the Ramadan fast: ‘Nawaitu shauma ghadin ’an adaa’i fardhi syahri ramadhaana hadzihis sanati lillaahi ta’aalaa.’
