Schedule for Galungan and Kuningan Holidays in June 2026 and Associated Optional Leave
In addition to the implementation schedule, the public needs to be aware of the provisions regarding optional leave granted to the Hindu community. These provisions were communicated through a circular issued by the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
Schedule for Galungan and Kuningan Holidays 2026
Galungan and Kuningan are two sacred days of great significance for Hindus. Galungan is celebrated as the victory of dharma (truth) over adharma (evil), while Kuningan marks the conclusion of the Galungan celebrations, occurring 10 days later.
Referring to Circular Letter Number B-203/DJ.VI/Dt.VI.I.3/BA.03/2025 issued by the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance, the celebrations for Galungan and Kuningan in 2026 fall in June. The schedule is as follows:

Schedule for Hindu Optional Holidays in 2026
In the circular, the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance urges the provision of optional leave for employees, civil servants (ASN), as well as members of the TNI (National Armed Forces) and Polri (National Police) who are Hindu, to enable them to perform religious ceremonies according to the observed sacred days. Furthermore, the circular includes the schedule for collective leave and national holidays related to Hindu religious celebrations.
