The Indonesian government has officially established the schedule for Eid al-Fitr leave and school holidays in 2026 through several regulations governing national holidays, joint leave, and educational activities during Ramadan 1447 Hijriah.

The decision is outlined in a Joint Decision Letter (SKB) from Three Ministers Number 1497, Number 2, and Number 5 of 2025 concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave in 2026. Additionally, the government has regulated the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 school holiday schedule through a Joint Circular Letter (SEB) from the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Minister of Religion, and Minister of Internal Affairs.

Through this policy, the public can determine the exact period of Eid al-Fitr holidays, including the flexible work schedule implemented during the homecoming and return travel periods.

This schedule serves as the national reference for both government and private sector institutions in managing work activities during the Eid al-Fitr period. The provisions are regulated in SEB Number 5 of 2026, Number 2 of 2026, and Number 400.1/857/SJ concerning learning during Ramadan.

The school holiday period runs for 16 calendar days, with teaching and learning activities scheduled to resume on Monday, 30 March 2026.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto explained that this policy aims to help ease travel congestion during the National Religious Holiday period. Flexible work arrangements (WFA) are implemented in two phases.
