Schedule and One-Way Points for the 2026 Lebaran Return Flow
The peak of the Lebaran return flow is predicted to occur starting today, 24 March 2026, and over the upcoming weekend on 28-29 March 2026. To ease vehicle density at several points, the National Police Traffic Corps has officially implemented traffic engineering in the form of a national one-way system. Note the schedule and one-way system for the 2026 Lebaran return flow as reported by Kompas.com. This toll road opening-closing system is situational and scheduled to run until 29 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB, depending on on-site traffic conditions. It is applied at several points, such as from KM 459 Salatiga to KM 420 Banyumanik. Drivers heading to Jakarta are urged to always obey signs and instructions from officers, as the scheme may change at any time following vehicle surges. The Japek II South Functional Route is also opened for 53 kilometres for vehicles from Bandung to Jakarta to reduce the load on critical points such as the Cikampek Interchange. With these various traffic engineering measures, the government hopes that the 2026 Lebaran return flow can proceed more smoothly, safely, and controllably despite a significant increase in vehicle volume. The vehicle surge has caused high density at several rest areas. Jasa Marga toll operator is implementing an opening-closing system at some points. Conversely, the government is providing a 30 per cent toll fare discount specifically for travel on 26-27 March 2026 to distribute the vehicle flow. Furthermore, those returning home can monitor live traffic conditions via CCTV available on the official websites of the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing before travelling.
