Schedule and Location of Depok Car Free Day This Weekend
JAKARTA — Depok City Government has confirmed that the weekly Car Free Day (CFD) will continue throughout the Islamic month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah, including this weekend on Sunday, 29 February 2026.
The routine activity will take place with adjusted timings from 06:00 WIB to 09:00 WIB.
The implementation location extends along Jalan Margonda Raya to Jalan Arif Rahman Hakim. As in previous implementations, this area will be temporarily closed to motor vehicles and utilised by the public for sports and leisure activities.
In previous CFD events, residents have taken advantage of the closure to cycle, walk, and enjoy the morning atmosphere. Traders have also been observed selling various goods, from clothing and daily necessities to food items such as marinated fish, chicken, and duck.
Deputy Mayor of Depok Chandra Rahmansyah stated that the decision to continue holding CFD during Ramadan represents the government’s commitment to maintaining balance between religious observance and community economic activity.
“CFD continues during Ramadan. The government must not restrict people from trading. Rather, we want the community economy to keep moving,” he said in an official statement.
By continuing CFD, Depok City Government hopes the public can remain productively active without diminishing the sanctity of worship. Beyond serving as a healthy space for social interaction, the activity also provides opportunities for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to continue their operations.
