BEKASI — Bekasi City Government is once again organising a Motor Vehicle-Free Day (HBKB), commonly known as Car Free Day (CFD), on Sunday, 24 May 2026 in the morning.

For road users and the public who wish to spend their weekend leisure time in public open spaces, it is important to note the schedule and road closure locations being implemented.

This routine activity is scheduled to run from 06:00 WIB to 09:00 WIB.

Bekasi City Government has centred the CFD activity along Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani extending to the Summarecon Bekasi area. This zone is completely closed to provide a safe space for the public.

As with previous implementations, this pollution-free area is repurposed into a substantial public space. Moreover, this momentum is frequently utilised by various local communities as a platform for social interaction and to organise diverse positive activities in the open space.

In connection with the closure of this main route, the Transportation Department working with local police has prepared a traffic diversion scheme at several strategic points to anticipate increased vehicle volumes.

For motorists coming from the Kranji direction towards Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani, traffic will be diverted through Jalan Kemakmuran (the road beside Bekasi City Government Office) and then directed towards Jalan Veteran.

Meanwhile, vehicles coming from Jalan Hasibuan and Bulak Kapal heading towards the city centre will be directed to turn right at the Bekasi Cyber Park (BCP) intersection.

The public and road users are urged to anticipate this and adjust their travel routes during the CFD implementation hours to avoid potential vehicle congestion around the event location.
