Schaeffler and VinDynamics Forge Strategic Partnership to Develop Humanoid Robots
Schaeffler and VinDynamics will collaborate on research and technology to develop humanoid robots, combining Schaeffler’s high-precision actuator expertise with VinDynamics’ robotics capabilities. Schaeffler will supply high-precision actuators for humanoid robots to be deployed in the real world with data optimisation.
Hanoi, Vietnam (ANTARA/PRNewswire) - Schaeffler, a global leader in motion technology, has forged a strategic partnership with VinDynamics—a robotics company backed by Vingroup—to accelerate the development of humanoid robot technology. This collaboration is outlined in a memorandum of understanding covering research and technology development. Schaeffler will supply key components for producing VinDynamics’ humanoid robots. The partnership was formalised in Hanoi and marks Schaeffler’s first collaboration with a humanoid robotics company in Southeast Asia.
Pushing Humanoid Robot Production Forward
The partnership was inaugurated by Prof. Han Boon Siew, Head of Humanoid, Asia Pacific, Schaeffler. Both companies will work together on research, development, and optimisation of key humanoid robot components, including actuator systems and related motion technologies. Schaeffler’s actuator components play a crucial role in generating precise and reliable robot movements. Meanwhile, VinDynamics will conduct technical testing and software optimisation for control systems to ensure seamless integration with the actuator systems.
Leveraging Data to Enhance Design and Performance
This collaboration extends beyond production to include support for product simulation and validation. VinDynamics will share operational data on actuators with Schaeffler to improve actuator design and performance. This data-driven approach also supports the development of services such as condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
