SCG Opens Sharing the Dream Scholarship 2026, Open to People with Disabilities and Children of Construction Workers
The scholarship programme is once again being utilised by the industrial sector to strengthen the quality of human resources while addressing the challenges of sustainable economic transition. SCG is opening registrations for the Sharing the Dream Scholarship 2026 to encourage the emergence of a competitive young generation and green human resources.
This scholarship programme, entering its 14th edition, forms part of SCG’s Inclusive Green Growth commitment, which integrates ESG practices through human resource development, environmentally friendly innovation, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. SCG positions the strengthening of young talent as the foundation for sustainable development in Indonesia.
In the ASEAN region, the youth population accounts for around 34 per cent. However, data from the International Labour Organization (ILO) indicates that approximately 16 per cent of ASEAN youth fall into the NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) category. In Indonesia, the proportion of youth aged 15 to 24 in this category reaches 19.44 per cent, highlighting the significant need for access to education and skills development.
SCG Indonesia Country Director Warit Jintanawan stated that the challenges facing the youth are becoming increasingly complex due to global competition and disruptions from artificial intelligence technology. “The challenges for the youth are becoming more complex in finding their position in industry and society, with increasingly competitive global competition and AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology disruptions. Therefore, the youth need to have adaptability, critical thinking, and initiative to become problem-solvers for society and the surrounding environment. Education oriented towards these goals is the key,” said Warit in a press release on Wednesday (6/6/2026).
This year, the programme adopts the theme “Green Active Generation” and is open to the general public, including people with disabilities and children from construction worker families. The target areas include Jakarta, Bogor, South Tangerang, Karawang, Sukabumi, Bekasi, Gresik, and Bandung for certain categories. Registrations are open from 4 May to 1 June 2026.
SCG provides scholarships for 400 high school students and 12 undergraduate students. The scholarship recipients, or SCG Scholars, not only receive educational support but also participate in capacity-building programmes that cover strengthening of soft skills and technical skills. Participants also have the opportunity to lead social projects with mentoring from SCG.
