Scenes of Homecoming Rush Begin on Kalimalang Road

The atmosphere of the 2026 Eid holiday exodus is already becoming evident in the final week of Ramadan. This is no exception on Jalan Raya Kalimalang, which borders the East Jakarta and Bekasi areas.

According to detikcom observations on Tuesday, 17 March 2026 at 21:10 WIB in the evening, the situation on Jalan Raya Kalimalang had already begun to grow busy. Traffic flow remained monitored as moving smoothly.

Congestion was occasionally visible at intersections and road junctions. Police personnel were also on standby at the location to ensure smooth traffic flow.

For information, Kalimalang Road is a favourite route for two-wheeler homecomers from Jakarta and Tangerang and surrounding areas heading towards Java.

From the large number of motorcyclists passing through, particularly two-wheelers, it was evident that many were carrying a number of items on their motorcycles typical of holiday travellers. These items were tied to the rear seat, with several others stored at the front.

Among them, some even attached a piece of paper to the top of the items they carried. The paper bore messages for their families in their hometowns.

“If you get tired, rest; if you get drowsy, sleep; if you get bored, don’t disappear; if it’s just a friend, is it okay to call you dear? Don’t forget your identity card. Jakarta-Kebumen,” the paper read.
