Scenes of Crowds Queueing and Squeezing to Attend Prabowo's Open House at the Palace

Residents queued and waited to enter for the halal bihalal with President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Saturday (21/3/2026). Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the Presidential Palace in Jakarta was opened to the general public for the open house on Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. Observations at the location showed residents arriving since morning and willingly squeezing to meet President Prabowo Subianto. From early morning, residents crowded the area around the Palace and were willing to wait even though the gate was still closed. Security personnel stood guard at several points to regulate and order the queues of the public wishing to enter the Palace grounds. Queues began to appear from 10:00 WIB, with residents starting to arrive at the Palace entrance gate on Jalan Majapahit. Residents queued under the tents that had been prepared. “I’ve been here since 7 a.m.,” said one resident from Bogor to CNBC Indonesia. Several residents with disabilities were also seen queuing in front of the Palace gate. Previously, President Prabowo Subianto performed Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh. On the same day, the President was scheduled to return to Jakarta to hold halal bihalal activities or an open house with the public at the Presidential Palace. It is estimated that the number of visitors attending could reach around 5,000 people, and to ensure comfort, the Presidential Secretariat will implement a staggered visit scheme.
