Police and related agencies evacuated 11 babies from a house in Hargobinangun Village, Pakem, Sleman. The evacuation process took place on Friday (8/5). Here is the scene of the house where the dozen babies were sheltered. It is known that the babies were the result of extramarital relationships. The births were assisted by a midwife with the initials ORP. The parents then entrusted the babies to the midwife ORP by paying Rp 50,000 per day. The midwife operates in the Gamping area. Due to an ongoing family event, the babies were taken to the midwife’s parents’ house in Pakem over the past week. The house is located in the middle of a residential area and close to neighbours’ homes. When detikJogja visited the location, the house was quiet. Local residents approached for statements chose to remain silent, including the local village head. The house was closed and unoccupied. However, baby clothes were still hanging to dry in front. When peeking inside the house through a window, several stacks of baby nappy packaging were visible. Several gallons of mineral water were also lined up on the floor. The Head of Criminal Investigation at Sleman Police Resort, AKP Mateus Wiwit Kustiyadi, explained that initially, officers received information about the presence of dozens of babies in a house from local village officials. “Naturally, we felt there was something suspicious about the presence of 11 babies in Hargobinangun at one house, cared for by three people,” Wiwit told reporters on Monday (11/5/2026). Wiwit explained that the 11 babies were evacuated on Friday (8/5) afternoon together with related agencies. Three babies were treated at the hospital, two were taken by their parents, while the other six were evacuated by the Sleman Social Services. “Three babies we treated at RSUD, yesterday two babies were taken by those claiming to be their mothers. Then the other six babies are being cared for by social services for further handling,” he said. Wiwit stated that a total of 11 people have been examined, including the midwife with initials ORP who assisted in the births. Then the woman with initials K and the man with initials S, who are the midwife’s parents. Examination results showed that both helped care for the babies along with a helper. Including six baby parents. “The witnesses we have clarified include one midwife, initials ORP. Regarding the caregivers, namely Mrs K, assisted by her husband Mr S, and one helper,” said Wiwit.
