Scene of Crowded Human Masses at Station Due to KRL Disruption

Numerous passengers were seen crowding due to a service disruption on the KRL Commuter Line at Kebayoran Station on Monday afternoon (4/5/2026). KAI Commuter stated that the operational issue on the Rangkasbitung route this afternoon was triggered by sparks from an overhead power line pole. The incident caused a power outage, temporarily halting Commuter Line services on the Pondokranji–Sudimara section of the Rangkasbitung route since 4:30 PM WIB. On-site observations by CNBC Indonesia around 6:00 PM showed crowds filling the Kebayoran Station area, with density at several points, particularly on the platforms. Passengers crowded platforms 1 and 2 while awaiting updates on train movements, leading to significant queues and congestion inside the station. KAI Commuter expressed apologies for the operational issues and delays. To mitigate the disruption’s impact, travel rerouting will be implemented on the affected route. Users are advised to prioritise safety and follow station staff instructions. The latest travel updates can be accessed via the C-Access app or KAI Commuter’s official social media accounts. According to the latest report at 6:15 PM, the KRL Green Line has begun moving from Tanah Abang Station, but only up to Serpong Station. “It is not yet normal; trains from Rangkasbitung Station are still only served up to Serpong Station,” said Vice President Corporate Secretary of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia, Karina Amanda, to CNBC Indonesia.
