Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) conducted a simultaneous one-hour lights-out action on Saturday (25/4) night, from 20:30 to 21:30 WIB. This action was carried out to commemorate Earth Day 2026 and forms part of the support for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s initiative.

The DKI Provincial Government has invited businesses and the public to participate in efforts to save energy and reduce carbon emissions in the capital. As the area manager, PT Danayasa Arthatama joined in by turning off lights at several strategic points in the SCBD area, including office buildings, commercial areas, and public facilities. This activity represents tangible support from the private sector for environmental conservation agendas and raising awareness of climate change issues.

Director of PT Danayasa Arthatama, Ariefin Surjawirawan, emphasised that SCBD’s participation in this event is part of its ongoing commitment to implementing environmentally friendly business principles.

“Through this Earth Day momentum, we want to invite all tenants, workers, and the public to jointly play a role in protecting the earth. Small steps like turning off lights simultaneously carry great significance as a symbol of collective concern,” said Ariefin in his statement on Sunday (26/4/2026).

This action also involved various business units and buildings under the Artha Graha Network and Artha Graha Peduli as part of the implementation of the Corporate Social Safety Responsibility (CSSR) programme.

Although it lasted for a limited duration, this lights-out is expected to convey a strong message about the importance of energy efficiency and environmental protection. Moreover, the activity serves as a reminder for the public to adopt sustainable lifestyles in daily life, such as saving energy, reducing waste, and using resources wisely.

Through participation in this initiative, SCBD is expected to serve as an example for other business districts in integrating sustainability principles into company operations and work culture.
