SCBD Becomes Gathering Point for Victory Celebrations and Eid Holiday Destination
The Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) is once again affirming its role as an inclusive public space in the capital through the organisation of the “Syawal Unity - Lebaran in Jakarta” festival. Held at the end of Ramadan through to the beginning of Syawal, the event serves as a platform for socialising while also acting as an Eid holiday destination for those celebrating the day of victory in Jakarta.
The festival presents a blend of cultural values, togetherness, and a spirit of tolerance in an open space accessible to all groups. Through these activities, SCBD aims to strengthen its position as a centre of cultural acculturation that represents the harmony and diversity of Indonesian society.
In addition to being a celebration space, the event also encourages local economic empowerment by involving UMKM actors mentored by Artha Graha Peduli and SCBD Weekland. The presence of these business actors is expected to stimulate the creative economy while providing culinary experiences and local products for visitors.
From a facilities perspective, the SCBD area, supported by green open spaces and integrated transportation access such as the MRT and TransJakarta, offers comfort for the public wishing to enjoy the Eid atmosphere in the city centre with environmentally friendly mobility.
A representative of the organisers, Director of PT Creative Event Entertainment, Roland Hutapea, stated that the event is presented as a shared space for all society.
“We present Syawal Unity - Lebaran in Jakarta as a shared home that upholds interfaith tolerance in cultural diversity. This is the result of collaboration between creative communities, business actors, community figures, and religious leaders to bring a solemn, peaceful, and lively Eid atmosphere. This activity also aligns with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s programme to make Jakarta a lively and enjoyable destination, including for those celebrating Eid in the capital,” said Roland in an official statement on Friday (20/3/2026).
A variety of cultural performances enliven the festival, including torch takbir processions and cultural parades, Gema Takbir dance, Muslim Nusantara dance, as well as various regional dances and cultural acculturations. In addition, visitors can enjoy religious music performances such as gambang kromong, angklung, kolintang, hadroh, gambus, rampak bedug, marawis, and religious band appearances.
This series of activities is part of SCBD Weekland, which runs from 18-24 March 2026, while the “Syawal Unity - Lebaran in Jakarta” festival itself is held from 19-22 March 2026.
As an area open to the public, the event can be enjoyed by all society, both Jakarta residents and tourists spending their Eid holiday in the capital. Visitors are urged to maintain cleanliness and order for mutual comfort.
