Scavenger brutally killed

JAKARTA (JP): A scavenger who was used to operate at the
Cilincing garbage dump in North Jakarta was found dead on Monday
night with several stab wounds to his body and head.

North Jakarta Chief Police Lt. Col. Abubakar Nataprawira
assumed that Hartono, alias Ujang, was killed by other
scavengers.

"The dispute between the scavengers over sites was probably
behind the brutal killing," Abubakar said, adding that the
suspects are still at large.

"Hartono's head was almost cracked open, his nose was slashed
and stomach severely pierced," Bambang, a forensic expert at the
Cipto Mangunkusumo general hospital, said.

Bambang added Hartono's mouth smelled of alcohol when the body
arrived at the hospital.

Hartono is a resident of Bojonegoro, East Java. (04)
