Scarlett Johansson Confirmed to Star in The Batman: Part II

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Director Matt Reeves has finally confirmed Scarlett Johansson’s involvement in The Batman: Part II. This is a sequel to the 2022 Batman film starring Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.

The news comes after rumours circulated that Johansson would be joining the Gotham City universe. However, details about the character she will play are still being kept secret.

Reeves announced the new cast members in his own unique way through a GIF post on his X account on Thursday (14/5/2025). He shared clips of Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, and Sebastian Koch from various film projects, which immediately sparked fan speculation about the DC characters they will play.

Many fans speculate that Johansson will play Gilda Dent, the wife of Harvey Dent. This speculation arose after Reeves posted a GIF of Johansson from the film Under the Skin with the caption, “Next exit, Gotham. Welcome.”

Sebastian Stan is reportedly set to play Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face, the Gotham City prosecutor who becomes a dangerous criminal. Meanwhile, Charles Dance is rumoured to be playing Harvey Dent’s father, Christopher Dent.
