Scared citizen

Scared citizen

From Warta Kota

This paper reported on Feb. 8 the incident in which a minibus
passenger pulled out a pistol while quarreling with the driver of
another car near the Cikini railway station, Central Jakarta. I
remember a similar recent incident in Kebayoran Lama, South
Jakarta.

A jeep driver was quarreling with a sedan driver following
their overtaking of each other on the road. All of a sudden, the
jeep driver, a young man, pulled out a pistol and pointed it at
the other driver. None of the other drivers nearby dared to
approach them.

As a civilian without any firearms, I am scared and concerned
because today people get emotional too quickly and suddenly pull
out a weapon, be it a firearm, a machete, etc.

I think it is time the police conduct firearm raids in this
capital, particularly aimed at drivers or passengers of cars or
motorcycles.
