Scalpers rampant at airport

TANGERANG: Ticket scalpers at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport became more daring on the fourth day following Idul Fitri by offering tickets right in front of airport security officers.

An airplane passenger, Jumano Kalarra, complained that scalpers had followed him to the restroom.

"They tried to force me to buy even at the entrance of the toilets, so I shouted so that people would come and stare, only then they left me alone," he said on Tuesday.

Security officers at the Idul Fitri command post at the airport claimed they had done their best to control ticket scalpers.

"We've arrested and disciplined dozens of ticket scalpers already, but it's hard when it's a matter of people's livelihood," a security officer, Kayan, said. -- Antara
