SBY only answerable to the people

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) is currently interviewing candidates for ministerial positions. As an ordinary citizen, I hope that the final decision to appoint someone is based on the interests of his supporters.

And just who are his supporters? His real supporters are the people of Indonesia. The people that desperately need a change. I don't think that the Democratic Party, the Prosperous Justice Party and other political parties that declared their support for Susilo were strong enough to influence people to vote for him.

Of course they have contributed to his win in the election and such a contribution must be acknowledged and rewarded but not necessarily in terms of a ministerial position. Even the Golkar Party and the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle that claimed they have strong party networks were unable to support Megawati.

As the first Indonesia president directly elected by people, Susilo must have the courage to walk among the many different ethnic and religious communities with so many different political aspirations to make nation building a top priority.

Susilo owes nothing to anyone except the people of Indonesia. Therefore only the people have the right to claim what Susilo promised in the campaign agenda.
