SBY may announce TNI reshuffle soon

JAKARTA: Air Force Chief of Staff Marshall Chappy Hakim said
on Wednesday that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono would likely
announce new military chiefs of staff within the next two days at
the latest.

Chappy added that he had proposed three candidates to replace
him as Air Force Chief of Staff, but declined to name them.

"I have submitted three names to the TNI (Indonesian Military)
Chief, so please, be patient. I guess the President will announce
it within one or two days," Chappy told reporters on the
sidelines of a hearing with the House of Representatives
Commission I on political, security and foreign affairs.

There are rumors that deputy Air Force chief Vice Marshall
Herman Suprayitno is among the nominees. The two others are the
force's operational assistant Rear Marshall Djoko Soeyanto and
Chief of Air Defense Command Rear Marshall F. Djoko Poerwoko.

The President is expected to replace the current Army chief of
staff, Navy chief of staff, and Air Force chief of staff as part
of a major reshuffle of TNI top brass. --detik.com.
