Jakarta — Several former presidents and vice presidents of the Republic of Indonesia attended the funeral of the sixth Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Try Sutrisno, at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP) in Jakarta on Monday, 2 March 2026.

According to observations at the location, the former presidents and vice presidents arrived around 13:30 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) at the burial site. Among those present were sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), tenth and twelfth Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK), and eleventh Vice President Boediono. They were dressed in black suits and seated in the VVIP guest section.

Additionally, several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet attended the funeral, including State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Culture Minister Fadli Zon, Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar, and Presidential Envoy Hashim Djojohadikusumo.

Try Sutrisno died at age 90 at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Hospital in Jakarta on Monday, 2 March 2026 at 06:58 WIB. According to his family, the sixth Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia had no specific medical condition that caused his death.

Try’s son, Taufik Dwi Cahyono, stated that his father’s health declined due to his advanced age of 90 years. “My father’s condition declined because of his age; everything deteriorates at that age. There was no specific illness—it was simply due to his advanced age, with declining respiratory capacity and similar issues,” said Taufik at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto on Monday.

Taufik explained that prior to his death, Try had been receiving treatment at RSPAD since 16 February 2026 after suddenly losing his appetite. “He was admitted from 16 February. His appetite suddenly declined, he was brought here, his condition fluctuated, he was given medication and food,” said Taufik.
