SBY: Government and Business World Must Be “On Board” to Face Economic Pressures
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia’s sixth president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), has highlighted recent developments in the economy, both in the capital market and the money market.
SBY called on all parties to unite in facing economic pressures.
“Under President Prabowo’s leadership, the government, the business world, economists, and all stakeholders ‘must be on board’. In crucial matters, unity. Mutual trust must be built together,” SBY wrote in a post on his X account, @SBYudhoyono, on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
“Let us give the government a chance and support. Insya Allah, Indonesia can do it,” SBY stated.
He acknowledged that the current economic situation is indeed less encouraging.
“While painting in Magelang, I have been following the developments and dynamics of the markets. Both the capital market and the money market. Indeed, it is less encouraging,” SBY said.
Nevertheless, he believes that heavier economic pressures can still be prevented.
“Of course, something must be done. We still have political and economic resources. Options and solutions are still available,” SBY stated.
