SBY Delivers Closed-Door Lecture on Geopolitical Conditions at Lemhannas

Indonesia’s sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) delivered a public lecture at the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) on geopolitical conditions. The event was held behind closed doors.

As observed by detikcom, SBY arrived at Lemhannas on Monday (23/2/2026) at 12:45 WIB. He was welcomed directly by Lemhannas Governor Ace Hassan Syadzily upon arrival.

Ace stated that SBY’s presence was to share his knowledge regarding recent geopolitical conditions. He described SBY as the ideal figure for the occasion, as he consistently follows geopolitical developments.

“He certainly closely monitors and follows the process of global geopolitical developments. He is also Indonesia’s sixth President, so there is a great deal of knowledge he will share with all of us,” said Ace whilst opening the public lecture at Lemhannas in Central Jakarta.

Furthermore, Ace noted that SBY also possesses experience in leading Indonesia amid uncertain geopolitical situations. According to him, SBY was able to maintain stability in Indonesia throughout his two terms in office.

“Beyond his competent knowledge of geopolitics, more importantly, his experience in leading Indonesia for two terms — particularly in ensuring that amid the global geopolitical situation at the time, the Indonesian nation enjoyed ten years of political stability, economic stability, and sound national resilience,” he said.

Meanwhile, SBY expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to share his geopolitical knowledge with participants at Lemhannas. He noted that such knowledge is important for Lemhannas in the context of national development.

“Thank God, Governor of Lemhannas, today I am able to return to an institution that holds a profound history in national development from era to era,” said SBY.
