SBY and Jokowi to Visit Prabowo at the Palace During Eid

President Prabowo Subianto will receive visits from two former presidents, Joko Widodo and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah celebrations. SBY and Jokowi will arrive at the Presidential Palace on the first day of Eid, this Saturday, 21 March 2026.

State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi conveyed the plans for the halalbihalal event. “We have just received information regarding the presence of President SBY and President Jokowi,” said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Saturday.

Prasetyo has not confirmed the exact arrival time of Jokowi and SBY at the Palace. He estimated that Prabowo’s predecessors would visit in the afternoon.

Prabowo previously celebrated Eid al-Fitr in Aceh Tamiang. He performed Eid prayers together with residents affected by the floods and landslides that occurred at the end of last year. The prayers were held at a mosque near the temporary housing complex.

After performing Eid prayers, Prabowo inspected the construction of temporary housing in Aceh Tamiang. He then flew back to Jakarta to hold an open house or gelar griya.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the government is preparing the halalbihalal activities as an opportunity for the public to engage in socialising at the Palace. Teddy explained that the open house at the Palace is scheduled from afternoon to evening with a capacity of 5,000 people.

On that occasion, the government will provide various traditional Eid dishes such as ketupat. There will also be simple entertainment for children who come with their families. “The public who might come with their entire family to celebrate Eid, and want to stop by the Palace, are welcome,” said Teddy during his visit in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday, 20 March 2026.
