SBSI to host WCL meeting

JAKARTA: The Confederation of Indonesian Prosperity Trade Union (KSBSI) will host a week-long meeting of the World Confederation of Labour here, starting on Sunday.

The meeting will be attended by 60 worker unions' representatives from Argentina, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Belgium, Malaysia, the United States, Morocco, Namibia, Lithuania, Rumania and Indonesia, KSBSI said in a statement on Wednesday.

The meeting will discuss the latest developments among WCL members around the world as well as problems, such as working contracts, migrant workers, female workers and globalization.

SBSI chairman Muchtar Pakpahan was elected WCL vice president for Asia for 2001-2005 in WCL's congress in Romania two years ago. JP
