Some time ago I went to Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) in Bayat,
Klaten, Central Java, to take care of some business. It was a
busy day for the bank, packed with many people and even school
children making deposits. It was heartening to know that in a
small village like Bayat the people are aware of the need to save
for the future.

Saving is a good habit, and one that teaches children to be
thrifty and not spendthrifts.
