JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto revealed that Indonesia under his leadership has successfully saved Rp 31.3 trillion in state funds. If likened to an analogy, those funds could be used to renovate 34,000 schools across the country. “The total cash we have managed to save up to today is Rp 31.3 trillion. This is a very large amount. If we imagine, with this money we could renovate 34,000 of our schools throughout Indonesia, brothers and sisters,” said Prabowo during the handover of administrative fines and state fund recovery at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026). First, in October 2025, law enforcement officials saved Rp 13.25 trillion in state funds from corruption cases involving the provision of export facilities for crude palm oil and its derivatives. Two months later, in December 2025, the government successfully saved Rp 6.625 trillion in state funds. “And today, 10 April, we have successfully saved Rp 11.42 trillion,” stated Prabowo. In 2025, the government is known to have renovated 17,000 schools. Those schools were restored after more than a decade without repairs. Not only schools, the Head of State also mentioned that such funds could be used to overhaul 500,000 homes. “If helping with home renovations for low-income people, this could improve more than 500,000 homes. That means it can benefit 2 million of our low-income citizens,” said Prabowo. Those funds would have been lost and could not be utilised for social purposes. “Imagine if we hadn’t saved them, if the PKH Task Force hadn’t worked well, this money would be gone, this money could not be utilised by the citizens, by our people,” emphasised Prabowo.
